The Audubon Society of Lincoln City birders will lead a free birding clinic at Siletz Bay and Cutler City this Friday, Jan. 18, offering the chance to spot wintering waterfowl, shorebirds and more.
Siletz Bay regularly hosts thousands of wintering waterfowl and shorebirds including ducks, loons, grebes, raptors, shorebirds, gulls and herons. Usual sightings include great egrets, great blue herons, buffleheads, red-breasted merganser, Northern pintail and American wigeon; and bald eagles always put on a show.
Saturday’s outing, organized in partnership with Lincoln City Parks & Recreation and Explore Lincoln City, is open to all, with no registration required and no birding experience needed.
The group will meet at 9 am in the parking lot of The Bayhouse Restaurant, located at the south end of Lincoln City at 5911 SW Hwy. 101
