Newport’s Yaquina Birders and Naturalists will lead a guided walk to Brian Booth State Park this Saturday, April 20, offering the chance to spot shorebirds, waterbirds, songbirds and more.

Located just south of Newport, Brian Booth State Park includes Ona Beach park and Beaver Creek State Natural Area, featuring habitat that ranges from sandy shores to freshwater marsh to deciduous woodlands. Birders Marty and Jeannie Bray will lead this field trip in search of migrants that might include Western sandpiper, sanderling, whimbrel and possibly the over-wintering magnolia warbler.

The two-hour walk, which is free and open to all, will start at 8 am. Meet in the Ona Beach State Park parking lot on the west side of Highway 101. For more information, call Marty at 541-272-1805.
