Invasive weed expert Troy Abercrombie will visit Manzanita on Thursday, Feb. 14, to offer a primer on the kind of plants that are unlikely to make it into any Valentine’s Day bouquets.

Abercrombie is the Invasive Weeds Program coordinator at the Tillamook Soil and Water Conservation District. He will draw on a decade of work in weed management in both the public and private sector to introduce the audience to major species of concern for Tillamook County.

Before the talk, the Lower Nehalem Watershed Council will hold its February Board Meeting, including a short summary of council activities.

This event, which is free and open to all, will start at 7 pm at Pine Grove Community House, 225 Laneda Avenue.

Raffle tickets will be available for a $5 donation at the door, with the winner receiving a $25 gift certificate from Manzanita News and Espresso.
