Giving up smoking is among the most common New Year’s resolutions, but one of the hardest to keep. Fortunately, help is at hand in the form of a new, seven-week tobacco cessation workshop from Samaritan Health Services.

“Freedom from Smoking” begins on Monday, Jan. 28, at Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital in Lincoln City.

Designed by the American Lung Association, the free course shows smokers how to create a personal action plan, how to decrease cravings and improve self image and —most importantly — how to stay smoke-free for good

The course includes classes from 2:30 to 4 pm each Monday for seven weeks and a group quit day during week four.
