A piece from this year’s Bird Show, by Diane Archer

The Kids Zone after school program will be open on all day on Thursday and Friday, April 25 and 26, to take kids under its wing while local schools are closed.

Activities will include nature walks, bird-themed arts and crafts, building bird feeders and exploring the science behind bird wings and flight. Each afternoon, kids will go on field trips to Lincoln City Cultural Center to take part in the Annual Bird Show. They will have a chance to tour the art exhibit, meet local artists and be inspired to create their own masterpieces.

Kids Zone will be open daily from 8 am to 5:30 pm. Kids aged three to 18 are welcome to attend the program one day or both days. Healthy meals will be served each day. Parents are required to provide their own transportation to the Kids Zone site at 634 SE Hwy. 101 in Depoe Bay.
