Registration is now open for a host of spring youth and adult programs offered by Tillamook’s OSU Extension and its partners, Latimer Quilt & Textile Center and Art Accelerated.

On Monday, April 1 and 8, kids in third grade and up can take part in “Playing with Poetry,” exploring the way that poetry plays with words by reading some tree poems. Participants will then put that knowledge into practice by creating their own tree-themed poems. The class runs from 3:30 to 5 pm in the OSU Extension Meeting Room. Tuition is $15.

Sessions run from 3:30 to 5 pm in the OSU Extension Meeting Room. Tuition is $30.

Young crafters from kindergarten onward will also get to try their hand at knitting in a Fiber Arts Workshop that runs each Thursday from April 18 through May 30. Novice knitters will create a knitted hat using a circular loom while intermediate students can choose to craft a soap bag, a pair of slippers or a scarf using knitting needles and a variety of wool. Classes run from 3:30 to 5 pm at the Latimer Quilt & Textile Center, 2105 Wilson River Loop, Tillamook. The class costs $45 for new participants or $30 for returning students.
