With so many fun events to choose from at the Oregon Coast, organizers of St. Augustine’s 5th Annual Raise the Roof Festival knew they would have to offer something big to draw a crowd to their July 6 event.

We think they found just the thing — an 800-pound bull calf, which is up for grabs in a special raffle. While the bull will be too busy munching grass to attend the fair, guests will be able to check out photos of this fine specimen as they decide how many tickets to buy.

“Our 2019 festival will have much more to offer in the past,” said event coordinator Celeste O’Brien. “Home-made tacos, grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, Cajun corn and home baked goodies will be served. Oven fresh baked goods, pickles, native plants and fresh fruits and vegetable will be for sale.”

The event will also feature activities and games for all ages as well as a country store offering offer arts and crafts, toys and collectible items.

Aside from the bull giveaway, another raffle will offer guests the chance to win great prizes, with previous years’ offerings including vacation packages, restaurant meals for two, local goods, products, services and arts and crafts.

The Raise the Roof Festival will run from 11 am to 7 pm on Saturday, July 6, at 1139 NW Highway 101 in Lincoln City.
