Registration is now open for a free, six-week family cooking class offered by Food Share of Lincoln County.

Designed for families who access SNAP, WIC, TANF or SSI benefits, the class offers families guidance on how to cook nutritious, delicious food, make the most of their food resources and shop wisely at the grocery store

Participants will get to try out recipes at the class and then recreate them with ingredients taken home each week.

The six-week course starts on Thursday, Feb. 7, running from 5:30 to 7:30 pm every Thursday through March 14 in the kitchen at the Lincoln City Cultural Center, 540 NE Hwy. 101.

The class is for one parent and one child aged eight or older. Additional parents and children can be added if room is available. Free daycare and art lessons will be provided by the cultural center for children three years or older.
