Practical methods for dealing with dementia or Alzheimer’s will be on offer at Healthy Mind, Healthy Body event this Thursday, Aug. 29, at the Lincoln City Community Center.

The event, benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association, will feature a pool tournament at 1 pm and a Strength and Balance exercise class from 1 to 2 pm.

At 1:30 pm, Pacific West Ambulance will host bingo; and there will be pinochle tournament at 2:30 pm.

Anne Stephans will lead a live auction featuring many beautiful donated pieces of art and more. And guests can get in the running to win a quilt from the Lincoln City Quilters, with raffle tickets $5 apiece or five for $20. The drawing will be at 4 pm and ticket-holders need not be present to win.

One-on-one free counseling will be provided by Marie Laper from Oregon Cascades West Council of Governments from 12:30 to 4 pm.

Guests can also take part in Healthy You, a cooking class led by Chef Steve followed by lunch. Call 541-994-7400 for tickets.

Admission to the event is by donation. The Lincoln City Community Center is located at 2150 NE Oar Place.
