With millions of vehicles making their way along Highway 101 every year, cars at the Oregon Coast seldom make the headlines. But all that changes when the Surf City Classic Car Show and SoundOff rolls into Lincoln City.

Returning to Chinook Winds Casino Resort for its 19th year this Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 24 and 25, the show features everything from hot rods and custom cars to trucks and bikes.

Guests can vote for their favorite vehicle in the People’s Choice Awards, browse vendors selling food and car-related items, hear music from live bands and enjoy refreshment from the beer garden.

Meanwhile, the Surf City SoundOff 2019 is gearing up to be bigger and better than ever, with awards for not only the loudest car audio competitors, but also the best sound quality as well. Most competitors take part in local contests all over the country to accrue points towards national-level competition. Each year, the top vehicles in each class are invited to participate at the “dB Drag Racing World Finals.” Winners at the Surf City Sound-Off get triple points toward an invitation to the prestigious World Finals.

Registration for the Surf City car, truck and bike show and Surf City SoundOff is only $10 and includes a t-shirt and $5 in free slot play. All registration proceeds go to support Angels Anonymous, a local non-profit organization created to assist local residents with basic, immediate needs.

Registration is available online at www.chinookwinds.com until August 22 or at the registration booth at the event.
