The Central Coast Chorale will hold auditions for new singers on Wednesday, Aug. 21, preparing for a 2019-20 season that includes a series of holiday concerts in December, a Mardi Gras concert at the end of February and the “Anything Goes” concerts in May.

Auditions will run from 4 to 6 pm in the music room of the Oregon Coast Community College’s Newport campus. The sessions will consist of several simple exercises to determine range and vocal proficiency. Singers may prepare an audition piece if desired but it is not required. The chorale is accepting auditions for all vocal parts but — as with most choirs — is particularly interested in hearing from men.

The Central Coast Chorale is a mixed chorus made up of singers from up and down the Central Coast, drawing members of all ages from Lincoln City to Yachats

The Chorale will begin regular rehearsals on Saturday, Aug. 24, in Newport.

Singers who cannot attend the audition should contact Musical Director Dr. Mary Lee Scoville to make special arrangements. For more information, email or go to
