Looking for a healthy social activity? Join the Yachats Coastal Gems on Tuesday, Aug. 6, for a three loop walk around Depoe Bay, the charming seaside town noted for whale watching and the world’s smallest harbor. The jount will take in the harbor and two seaside residential areas with views of the sea and the hazardous entry to the harbor. There is a pedestrian underpass which offers an up-close view of boats attempting to reach the harbor safely.
Dogs are allowed but must be on a six-foot non-extendable lead and owners must come prepared to clean up after them.
The 3 and 6 mile walks have varied surfaces (including forested trail) and a few mild hills. The group will cheerfully follow the pace of the slowest walker and leave no one behind. Walking sticks and sturdy shoes are recommended.
Gathering and registration is inside Gracie’s Sea Hag, located at 58 N. Hwy 101. Registration begins at 9:45 am, the walk will start at 10 am. For more information call Maryann at (541) 961-4279 or email email@example.com.
