Where’s Waldo? In Lincoln City, of course! The iconic children’s book character in the red-and-white-striped shirt is visiting 25 businesses throughout town July as part of a nationwide hide-and seek challenge.

Organized by Candlewick Press, the American Booksellers Association and 250 independent bookstores across the country, Find Waldo Local is a great summer vacation activity that helps people shop local.

To participate, pick up a “Find Waldo Local in Lincoln City” passport, which contains the names of all the participating sites, and get it stamped or signed for each Waldo you spot. Participating businesses include Bob’s Beach Books, My Petite Sweet, Game Over Arcade, Robert’s Bookshop, Beach Baby Resale and more. And to make things a little more challenging, Waldo’s nemesis, Odlaw, will also be hiding in Bob’s Beach Books.

Seekers who collect store stamps or signatures at 20 or more businesses will be entered grand-prize drawing on July 31, with the top prize being a copy of “Where’s Waldo? Destination: Everywhere!,” a tribute to Waldo’s many decades of wandering.

There is no charge to participate, and the hunt lasts throughout July. For more information about hunting for Waldo in Lincoln City, call Bob’s Beach Books at 541-994-4467.
