Toxic masculinity will be on the chopping block this Saturday June 8, when Manzanita’s Hoffman Center for the Arts hosts a performance from the Turnback Boyz: A Time Traveling Queer Boyband.
Billed as an “inter-galactic, collaborative musical theater ensemble,” the group stars Oliver Gold, Peter Pansy, Tommy Tugunns and JB Bender, performing original songs including “Love is Cheesy,” “Femme I See You” and “Yelling in the Dark,” plus covers of some of some old favorites.
With live music, sweet sweet harmonies, cool choreography, fabulous fashion, witty banter and queer history lessons, the Turnback Boyz hit a pleasure nerve for everyone, gay or straight.
A post-show talkback will feature an interview with the band, covering topics including gender, race, pop culture and the collaborative creative process.
Saturday’s concert will start at 7 pm at 594 Laneda Avenue.
Tickets, $10 to $20, are available from https://turnbackboyz-hoffman.brownpapertickets.com or in cash on the door.
