Lincoln City’s Bijou Theatre is thinking big for Spring Break, designating Friday, March 22, through Thursday, March 28, as “No Small Screens Week” and serving up a full slate of epic classics that fill every inch of the silver screen.

“We want everyone to have an epic week while spending time in Lincoln City” said co-owner Keith Altomare. “Along with the epic places to eat, play and stay, we wanted to give cinema lovers an experience that they rarely get. A chance to see a great classic film on a big silver screen is rare these days. These films are so much better when seen in the places where they are created to be shown.”

The lineup was carefully curated by Bijou co-owner and film booker Betsy Altomare, who said she wanted the offerings to appeal to more than just one group of film fans.

“Many have mentioned they would love to see these classics on the big screen again,” she said. “We are happy they have the opportunity. Our schedule for “No Small Screens Week” is set up so most can take all four great films and still see the many great sites on the coast.”

The acclaimed films on offer include “Mary Poppins,” “The Wizard of Oz,” “Lawrence of Arabia” and “Rebel Without a Cause.” The movies were booked with the sponsorship of Explore Lincoln City, Lincoln City Glass Art Studio and Oregon Coast Community College.
