The Artists’ Studio Association in Lincoln City has chosen JoAnn Ballantyne as its artist of the month for April and will showcase an exhibit of her fabric arts, watercolors and acrylics throughout the month.

Ballantyne grew up in Central California where she received a certificate of fashion design. She started an American Sewing Guild chapter, worked as manager for Viking sewing machines, organized runway shows in Portland and has won competitions with her fabric collages.

She enjoys teaching and sharing thread painting, machine felting and fabric-clothing collage. She will be demonstrating her art during a public reception for the new show from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, April 12.

The Artists’ Studio Association is open from 10 am to 5 pm every day at 620 NE Hwy. 101.
