With decades in the casino business, former Lincoln City resident Don Kennedy has heard his fair share of stories. But the tales that tickle him the most come from his side gig, playing the part of Santa Claus for charitable organizations.

Kennedy, who served as marketing director at Chinook Winds Casino Resort from 2002 to 2004 and again from 2007 to 2008, has collected some of the most memorable anecdotes from 25 years of wearing the red suit in “Kids Say The Darndest Things To Santa Claus.”

This Sunday, Sept. 8, Kennedy will be at Lincoln City Farmers Market from 9 am to 3 pm, signing books and giving out signed author’s photos with each book sold.

“Great for dart boards, I’m told,” he said.

Proceeds from the event will go to Angels Anonymous, a charity that gives one-time financial assistance to North Lincoln County residents to help with basic needs.
