Experience the sights, sounds and flavors of Spain at a special summer evening fund-raiser at Café Mundo on Friday, Aug. 30.

This flamenco-themed event features the talents of local dancer Sophia Solano and guest guitarist Jeffery Trapp of Bend, alongside Spain-inspired dinner specials.

In celebration of art in all forms, a benefit silent auction will be held showcasing local art works in a variety of mediums.

The free event will run from 6 to 8 pm and is sponsored by Chasse and Joe Davidson. Joe serves the county as Lincoln County Assessor, and Chasse owns and manages Toledo Clayworks, a local pottery studio and gallery where she also offers classes and workshops.

Solano has been working with Joe and Chasse over the past several months creating flamenco tango choreography for the couple to perform as part of Dancing with the Coastal Stars, a dance competition in September that benefits local shelter facility Samaritan House.

All silent auction proceeds will benefit Samaritan House. For more information or to make an online contribution, go to www.samfamshelter.org/joe-and-chasse-davidson.
