Master your mystery (or maybe your memoir)

Registration is now open for a “Fiction Mastery” workshop led by Portland-area author Jessica Page Morrell at Manzanita’s Hoffman Center for the Arts.

The Saturday, Dec. 1, workshop will cover specialized techniques for creating a deep, vibrant and unified story as well as hands-on exercises to help participants identify their strengths and weaknesses.

Morrell brings a deeply practical approach to teaching and writes with depth, wit and clarity on topics related to writing. She is the author of writing guides including “Thanks, But This Isn’t For Us, A (Sort of) Compassionate Guide to Why Your Writing is Being Rejected;” “The Writer’s I Ching: Wisdom for the Creative Life;” and “Writing Out the Storm.”

The all-day workshop will run from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm at 594 Laneda Avenue, on with tuition $99 per person.
