The Oregon Coast Council for the Arts is now accepting workshop proposals for the 25th Annual Newport Paper & Book Arts Festival, which will take place in April 2020.
Running from April 16 through 19, the festival will feature workshops at the Newport Visual Arts Center and additional locations around Newport. The deadline for proposals is October 15, with successful presenters being notified later in October.
OCCA encourages workshop proposals addressing new and innovative techniques as well as traditional processes, including but not limited to assemblage, book arts, collage, dyeing, mixed media, paper making, paper manipulation, printing, specialty binding techniques and surface design.
Festival organizers are looking for proposals for one- and two-day workshops accommodating eight to 16 students per workshop, and encourage multiple proposal ideas to consider. Instructors selected to lead workshops receive competitive teaching fees, travel stipends, a per diem for lodging and food, other festival discounts and an opportunity to exhibit their artwork in the festival’s Instructors’ Show.
Interested instructors should contact Sara Siggelkow, festival coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 608-346-0697.
