The Yachats Banner Project will celebrate the theme “Where Edges Meet,” when it holds its third annual auction and artist celebration this Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Yachats Commons.

From 5 to 7 pm, guests will get to enjoy delicious treats catered by the Drift Inn while sizing up the more than 30 banners up for grabs at this year’s event.

Each spring, local artists volunteer to design and paint banners, which are then displayed along Highway 101, from June through September. Artist Mike Guerriero coordinates the project, prepares the banner canvases and paints the pastel backs containing the Yachats lettering.

The silent auction will end at 6:30 pm sharp.

Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Helen West Arts Education Fund and the Yachats Chamber of Commerce. The Helen West Fund supports community and school arts programs and projects and is named for artist Helen West, who lived in Yachats until her death in 2016.
