A scene from Oscar-nominated animated short “Bao”

Anyone who has sat through the acceptance speeches at the Oscars knows that brief is best. The coming week offers the chance to find out if the same applies to the movies themselves, as the Oscar-nominated shorts come to Lincoln City.

These pint-sized productions will be screened at the Lincoln City Cultural Center from Tuesday, Feb 19, through Thursday, Feb. 21, in partnership with the Bijou Theatre.

Live action nominees will be screened on Tuesday, Feb. 19, followed by animated nominees on Wednesday, Feb. 20, and documentaries on Thursday, Feb. 21. The animated films are rated PG and the other two programs are rated R.

Screenings start at 7 pm each night at 540 NE Hwy. 101.

Admission is $10 for each program or $28 for all three. Tickets are available at the cultural center, 541-994-9994.

Refreshments will be available and each audience members will receive a ballot to vote on their favorites.
