Coastal vistas

Photographers interested in seeing their work truly strike a chord with the audience are being invited to submit images for “Coastal Vistas” — a pair of multimedia performances from Newport Symphony Orchestra at the Ocean.

Slated for September 21 and 22, the shows will see the symphony perform a stunning visual concerto featuring the music of Aaron Copland choreographed with images captured by Lincoln County residents. The projected photos will feature iconic images of the Central Oregon Coast taken by local residents, including images by youth photographers from throughout the county.

Photos must be iconic images of the Central Oregon Coast or show the lives of people who live and work here. Inspirations for photos can be found anywhere; spectacular beaches, the hardworking fishing fleet, unique landmarks, coastal activities, the arts, the possibilities are endless.

The deadline for submission is May 15. To submit images, go to NewportSymphony.org.

For more information, contact the Newport Symphony Orchestra at 541-574-0614 or execdir@newportsymphony.org.

• In preparation for the event, Yaquina Art Association Photographers and Lincoln County 4-H are hosting a series of workshops for kids aged eight and up. To learn more, contact Todd Williver at 541-648-6815 or todd.williver@oregonstate.edu.
