Catherine Hingson is the featured artist for July at Lincoln City’s Beachstone Gallery, showcasing her coastal-themed watercolors throughout the month.

Hingson, who paints under the business name Playful Paintbrush, said she likes to imbue her work with a carefree spirit.

“I like to play and let the watercolors be free and easy without any judgement,” Hingson said. “Watercolor has a mind of its own anyway.”

Hingson’s work will be available to view from 10 am to 5 pm daily at 620 NE Hwy 101. There will be a special art reception running from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, July 12, where Hingson will be demonstrating her watercolor techniques in the gallery. Guests can enjoy complimentary food and beverages, meet the artists, hear live music and see the new art displayed.

On the same day, art receptions will also take place at the Pacific Artists’ Co-op Gallery and the Lincoln City Cultural Center, which are all on the same corner at 6th Street and Highway 101.
