Lincoln City’s Faith Baptist Church will welcome the Rykert Trio for an evening of contemporary and southern gospel, power anthems and classical hymns this Wednesday, July 17.

The group, made up of father Joe Rykert, his son, Joseph, and daughter, Noel, has been singing and ministering in churches and performing arts centers across the West Coast since 2016.

The Rykert Trio formed in the wake of devastating news in 2015, when Joe was diagnosed with Stage 4 lymphoma. After the rigors of chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant and radiation treatments, his cancer is now in remission.

All three Rykerts are soloists in their own right, but had never performed together as a family group before. Joe had singing commitments lined up, but didn’t know if he would have the strength to do them after the rigors of his cancer treatments. So, he asked his kids to back him up and thus the trio began. The Rykert Trio aims to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and bring hope to others who are battling cancer or facing other health challenges.

Wednesday’s concert will start at 6 pm at 5750 N Hwy. 101. A free-will offering will be taken.
