Photographer Rosemary Wood-Hemm is the featured artist at Lincoln City’s Beachstone Gallery throughout November, showcasing a mix of photographs and mosaic work.
Born in Yorkshire, England, Wood-Hemm moved to Boston in the 1980s, then on to Los Angeles where she worked as a newborn care consultant to the stars. She studied film photography and darkroom techniques at UCLA and later transitioned into digital photography, using her new skills to photograph her clients’ newborns and families.
Wood-Hemm and her husband moved to the Oregon Coast in 2008 and opened a B&B in Oceanside where she also displayed and sold her coastal landscape photography and driftwood sculptures. Now a three-year resident of Lincoln City, Wood-Hemm has added stained glass mosaic art to her repertoire and started combining her photographic images with mosaic art designs. One of her photos was recently chosen to grace the 2019 calendar at TLC Credit Union. Her mosaic work and photographs have been shown at the Lincoln City Cultural Center and are now on display at the Beachstone Gallery as well as online at www.rwhphotography.net.
Beachstone Gallery is located in the Artists’ Co-op building at 620 NE Hwy. 101, open daily from 10 am to 5 pm.
