Art in the spotlight

"Snails and Mushrooms" by Ann Nicholson

There is still a chance to see the jewelry and paintings of Oregon Coast artist Ann Nicholson, which are on display through Sunday, Nov. 18, in the latest Spotlight Show from Newport’s Yaquina Art Association.

Nicholson will be displaying wire pendants and earrings as well as small matted prints and greeting cards featuring her watercolor paintings. She will also be showcasing acrylic paintings on 6x6-inch canvases.

Nicholson has sold her work for many years at the outdoor markets and shops in the area, as well as the Yaquina Art Association Gallery. Her painting subjects include flowers, local interest and sometimes the whimsical, such as slugs and mushrooms or cranky sharks

The show is available to view daily from 11 am to 4 pm at the Yaquina Art Association Gallery, 789 NW Beach Drive.
