The latest Spotlight Show from Newport's Yaquina Art Association features the paintings of Lila Passarelli alongside photography by Donna McCoy.

Passarelli has worked with many mediums throughout the years: oils, watercolors, pastels, colored pencils, pen and ink, and — for the past 30 years — encaustics.

She will have a variety of paintings in her show, ranging from animals, flowers and landscapes to perhaps a seascape or two.

Donna McCoy enjoys exploring tide pools with her camera, looking for unusual animals and art forms to photograph and share. From the common sea star to the less common slug, she sees beauty in them all.

In this latest show, McCoy highlights some of the animals that live in the inter-tidal zone such as sea slugs, jellies, urchins and more. Sometimes her close up work takes on an unworldly look.

The show runs through Friday, Sept. 13, available to view from 11 am to 4 pm daily at the Yaquina Art Association Gallery, 789 NW Beach Drive.
