The auditorium of the Lincoln City Cultural Center will be filled with warmth and welcome this Tuesday, Dec. 24, as singers and musicians join together for “Winter Glow: a Christmas Eve Celebration in Song.”
Led by artistic director Valerie Kendall, the players will transport audience members out of the cold winter into the cherished warmth of friendship and community.
The concert will feature music from Cross Generations with Kendall on lead vocals, lead guitar and bass; Judy Allen on vocals; Amanda Cherryholmes on vocals, rhythm guitar, bass and cajón; Charlie Cherryholmes on drums; Jane Ott on vocals and keyboard; Shannon Zantello on vocals, xylophone, cajón and bodhrán; and Diego and Josue Gomez-Sanchez on vocals.
Kendall will also perform as one half of Strawberry Charlotte, a singer-songwriter duo that also features her daughter Haley Dean, lead vocalist and songwriter for the band Shores of Astor.
Afton Dean and Joshua Morgan, who work side by side as baristas, will add a popular sound to the mix with their own solos. And the audience will get to hear the Beard Family Bells, featuring Barbara and Paula on bells, accompanied by Paul on piano.
Audience members will be encouraged to sing their hearts out to the songs they know, helping create a little Winter Glow all of their own.
The concert, presented by the First Baptist Church of Lincoln City, will start at 6:30 pm in the auditorium of the Lincoln City Cultural Center, 540 NE Hwy 101. Admission, wassail and baked goods are all free.
Donations will be accepted for the cultural center auditorium development, and guests are asked to bring a canned food donation for the Lincoln City Warming Shelter.
