This week marks two of Coast Weekend’s biggest annual features: the Coast Weekend Photo Contest and Readers’ Choice Awards.

This year’s photo contest winners, and honorable mention recipients, are featured on pages 6 through 9 in this week’s print edition. The winners include four regional photographers, one of whom won the People’s Choice Award for getting the most votes from readers.

The participation in this year’s contest was notable. The contest ultimately featured more than 120 entries, all of which captured awe-worthy sights on the North Coast. From photos of the coast, to close-ups of local critters, each image showcased an insightful view of our local spots.

Throughout the next few months, I hope you continue to celebrate the North Coast by participating in the Readers’ Choice Awards. These annual awards are meant to celebrate the best of the best in our North Coast communities; from “best bartender” to “best cheap date” and so on.

To participate in the awards, visit coastweekend.com and click the “Readers’ Choice” tab (you can also go to eopubco.secondstreetapp.com/2020-Readers-Choice-Awards/). Once there, you can nominate your favorite places and people.

Nominations will be accepted until Jan. 20.

After the nomination period has ended, come back to the same link to send in votes for your favorite entries. Voting will be open from Jan. 22 to Feb. 21.

The winners will be announced in the March 18 edition of Coast Weekend.

As always, send any questions to editor@coastweekend.com.
