There are a handful of activities, sponsored by Coast Weekend, that you can participate in this month.

Whether you’re a photographer, a reader, a writer, or simply a local resident, there’s something for everyone.

Share your words

Have your holiday plans changed? Have they stayed the same? Send a short response (no more than 150 words) describing what your holiday season looks like this year to aevans@dailyastorian.com. Responses will be curated and combined for an upcoming feature. Sending a photo alongside your written response is encouraged.

If you’re a poet or would like to try your hand at writing a poem, you’re welcome to send poems to aevans@dailyastorian.com by Dec. 14 to be published in Coast Weekend’s winter poem collection. Please limit entries to three poems and include your name and town of residence with your entry.

Share your photography

There is still time to enter Coast Weekend’s 2020 Photo Contest. Residents from along the coast, between Willapa Bay and Rockaway Beach, are welcome to showcase photos captured this year.

The contest will close Dec. 17. There will be four contest winners. The top 10 photos will appear in the Jan. 7 edition of Coast Weekend. The top 25 photos will be published online.

Submit photos online at Coast Weekend’s website, coastweekend.com, under the “Photo Contest” tab.

Read a book

There is still time to participate in Coast Weekend’s book club.

Read “Swedes in Oregon” before Dec. 14, then tune into Coast Weekend’s Facebook page at 6 p.m. for a live interview and Q&A session with the book’s authors.
