‘Call of the Columbia’ is written by local author Brian Ratty.

The second Coast Weekend Book Club meeting is almost here.

On Wednesday, Feb. 3, at 6 p.m., head to bit.ly/3sFOzQz or facebook.com/coastweekend to watch a live interview with Seaside author Brian Ratty.

Ratty will discuss his latest’s book, “Call of the Columbia: River of Redemption.” The book tells the story of two men who rescue a young girl, eventually bring her to Astoria and create a lifelong bond. The historical fiction novel is the third edition of Ratty’s “Pathfinders” trilogy.

After the interview, you’ll be able to ask Ratty questions of your own and hear other readers’ questions. If you haven’t finished or read the book yet though, don’t fret — anyone will be welcome to join the event.

“Call of the Columbia: River of Redemption” is available in local bookstores. RSVP for the event at facebook.com/events/735915383731768.

If you have any questions, email editor@coastweekend.com or call 971-704-1721.
