CANNON BEACH — Marc Bates, aka “The Cheese Guy” who worked in the world of cheese for more than 40 years, brings his expertise to Tolovana Hall for an evening of cheese tasting and appreciation 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8.
He will outline the pillars, such as soft cheeses (like ricotta), soft ripened cheese (chevre), bloomy rinds (Brie and Camembert), hard cheeses (Swiss and Gouda) and more.
And, of course, he’ll provide tastes.
Along the way, he’ll outline ingredients, processes and the basics of cheesemaking.
The event is produced in partnership with the Tolovana Arts Colony. Tickets are $15 — cheese is included.
