ASTORIA — Clatsop Community College’s next Ales & Ideas lecture — titled “Astoria’s Economic History: A Tale of Booms, Busts, and Recoveries” — takes place 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Fort George Lovell Showroom.

The presentation features the college’s Small Business Development Center director, Kevin Leahy; the center’s lead adviser, Jessica Hall; Clatsop WORKS paid internship program coordinator Anna Stamper; and the college’s South County office manager and executive assistant, Tammy Lambert.

In this presentation, the audience will hear about the industries that built Astoria and Clatsop County, including downtown Astoria, from the early years to today, and learn how our community has an economic future that shines brighter with each year.
