The Lower Nehalem Watershed Council Speaker Series will host a virtual season at 7 p.m. Dec. 10 at

Tiffany Garcia, an associate professor in the department of fisheries and wildlife at Oregon State University, will present “Terrestrial Salamanders in Forested Ecosystems: Diversity, Ecology, and Their Role in Managed Landscapes.”

Garcia will review terrestrial salamander habitat needs and behavior and share insights from her research into their responses to timber harvest practices.

The event is free to the public. A board meeting will precede the lecture at 5 p.m. The meeting is available to the public and accessible through the same link as the lecture.
