SOLVE volunteers

Volunteers from a previous SOLVE event.

OREGON — In honor of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, which is April 22, SOLVE is hosting online celebrations.

SOLVE typically hosts an annual variety of volunteer events for the holiday. Events include tasks like pulling weeds and planting seeds.

This year, the organization is instead providing a “virtual tour” of Oregon. The tour includes environmental projects that individuals can complete at home or during a neighborhood walk.

Projects include tasks like identifying and removing invasive plant species, learning about soil and water and picking up garbage.

The tour and projects are online at and will be available for the rest of April.
