NEHALEM — Lower Nehalem Watershed Council will host a lecture at 7 p.m. Thursday at lnwc.nehalem.org
Aaron Groth will host the lecture, titled “Coastal Fire History: The Tillamook Burn and What You Can Do to Prepare.” Groth will discuss the Echo Mountain Fire complex, the Mapleton Fire and the Pike Road Fire. He will focus on coastal Oregon fire history, providing context and preventative steps residents can take.
Groth is a regional fire specialist for Oregon State University. His coverage area includes Clatsop, Columbia, Tillamook and Lincoln counties.
The meeting is part of the council’s online speaker series.
