An upcoming lecture will focus on hummingbirds.

ASTORIA — Bird enthusiast and wildlife volunteer Barbara Linnett will present “Let’s Talk About Hummingbirds,” Lewis and Clark National Historical Park’s monthly “Nature Matters” lecture series at 7 p.m. Nov. 12.

Linnett will discuss Clatsop County’s hummingbirds’ unique behaviors, colors and speed. She will share ways that people can get involved in protecting hummingbirds.

Linnett is a retired nurse who volunteered for the Wildlife Center of the North Coast for eight years. When the center rescues fragile hummingbirds, Linnett is called to help with their special rehabilitation needs.
