David L. Nicandri will present “Pacific Slope Prologues to Lewis & Clark.” His presentation will focus on the Lewis and Clark Expedition and how the exploits of British explorers shaped and confused the Corps of Discovery’s journey.

Nicandri has studied and wrote about Capt. James Cook and the Lewis and Clark Expedition for nearly two decades. He is a former director of the Washington State Historical Society and the author of “Captain Cook Rediscovered: Voyaging to the Icy Latitudes” and “River of Promise: Lewis and Clark on the Columbia.”
