ASTORIA — Clatsop Community College is holding a virtual fundraiser through Tuesday to help students impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

The fundraiser is a replacement for the college’s annual dinner and auction. Donations can be made at clatsopcc.ejoinme.org/todaysneed or by mail to the college’s foundation at 1651 Lexington Ave. in Astoria.

In a recent study, the college found that 40% of students had recently experienced food insecurity, 54% had faced housing insecurity and 20% had been homeless in the past year. The survey was conducted before the pandemic.

All funds will go to students to help with food, housing, medical, transportation and other basic expenses. The college hopes to raise $30,000, which will be matched by college sponsors.
