While Cannon Beach is popular for its outdoor scenery and activities, the town’s brewery scene is another popular draw for visitors.
Cannon Beach is home to two breweries, a public house, wine shops and liquor stores, not including the many local restaurants that serve locally brewed drinks, like Bill’s Tavern.
You should be able to find a worthwhile spot to visit, regardless of what type of atmosphere you’re looking for.
For a more laid back vibe, consider visiting Public Coast Brewing Co., located toward the north end of town. The brewery offers a variety of beers, including ales, IPAs, sours, stouts and more.
The brewery also sells a homemade root beer, which doesn’t include alcohol. If you’re in the mood for a bite to eat, consider getting one of the brewery’s pretzels (you’ll want one for yourself) or other appetizers. The brewery also sells fuller dishes like burgers and fish dishes.
On the other side of downtown Cannon Beach sits Pelican Brewing Co. The brewery is also laid back but has more of a traditional restaurant vibe compared to Public Coast.
If you’re in the mood for a full plate, Pelican is worth the visit. The brewery offers burgers, pizza, fish and chips, and other filling dishes. If you’re in the mood for a drink, consider trying one of Pelican’s pale ales or stouts. Cocktails and wine are also available.
If you’d rather pick up a drink to enjoy later, consider stopping by Laurel’s Wine Shop, The Wine Shack, Cannon Beach Hardware and Public House, Mariner Market or one of the liquor stores downtown.
