CANNON BEACH — Writers from the North Coast and beyond will be able to read their stories, poems, essays and more on the theme, “Views From the North Coast” during the Cannon Beach Library’s Writers Read Celebration on Feb. 28.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, Jan. 17.

What is your view from the North Coast? What draws you here? How would you describe your connection to what you see?

Anyone, including residents and visitors, can participate. High school students can also participate in a separate Writers Read category with the same theme and same guidelines. They also will read their selections on Feb. 28.

All written formats will be considered. Writers can submit up to three entries. Maximum length is 600 words.

Do not write your name or contact information on the submission. Include a cover letter with the writer’s name, email and phone number with the piece to be considered.

Submissions can be emailed to: info@cannonbeachlibrary.org or mailed to P.O. Box 486, Cannon Beach, OR 97110.

A panel of judges will conduct a “blind” reading and select the entries to be read on Feb. 28.

For more information, write to info@cannonbeachlibrary.org or call 503-436-1391.
