Seth Walker at KALA

Roots/blues/soul musician Seth Walker.

ASTORIA — KALA brings South Carolinian Seth Walker — a national roots, blues and soul artist — to the stage 8 p.m. Saturday, March 9.

Walker is on tour with his album “Are You Open?” His trio is a staple in the roots and blues world, including multiple support slots for The Wood Brothers and performances on Delbert McClinton’s Sandy Beaches Cruise.

Over the past decade, Walker has become recognized as one of the most revered modern roots artists in the U.S. — a three-dimensional talent who combines a gift for melody and lyric alongside a rich, Gospel-drenched, Southern-inflected voice with a true knack for getting around on the guitar.

Tickets are $15. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. The show is for people 16 and older. There will be a full bar. Advance tickets can be bought online: Will call tickets will be at the door at showtime.

KALA is at 1017 Marine Drive in Astoria.
