ASTORIA — Pier Pressure Productions will hold auditions for the play “The Weir” by Connor McPherson, directed by Karen Bain. Auditions will happen at 6:15 p.m. Friday and 2:15 p.m. Saturday at Pier Pressure Productions, 1015 Commercial St.

The director seeks four men ages 30-60 and one woman in her 30s. Although this play requires Irish accent, it is not a perquisite. The accent will be taught in rehearsal.

The story: four men and one woman share haunting stories on a blustery night in rural Ireland. Prepared audition pieces are encouraged but not mandatory.
