SEASIDE — On Sunday, Oct. 6, at 2 p.m., the United Methodist Church hosts local pianist Carey Buerk. Proceeds go to the South County Community Food Bank.
The event is free but donations are appreciated. The church is located at 241 N. Holladay Drive in Seaside.
Buerk will perform music ranging from classical to show tunes. This event helps raise awareness around hunger and the work of the food pantry.
This concert includes the church chorus and refreshments.
Buerk has helped raise $5,000 for the food bank since his first benefit concert performance.
Buerk used to play for the seniors at the Bob Chisholm Community center. He volunteered as the dishwasher and then would play for the Senior Meal program.
The Pantry does not receive any permanent funding stream, so it relies on the generosity of gifts from individual donors, grants and fundraisers.
To learn more about the food pantry, donate or volunteer, call 503-738-9800 or visit the pantry at 2041 North Roosevelt Drive in Seaside.
