MANZANITA — Hoffman Center Gallery will host regional artists for its August art show, on display from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday at the gallery, 594 Laneda Ave.

Artists Lloyd Lindley, Dorothy Holmes Mohler and Bev Cordova will be featured. Clay art by other artists will also be displayed.

Cordova’s featured pieces will include “clay vessels.” She came to Oregon as a young adult and earned her bachelor’s of fine arts degree from Portland State University. Cordova has lived on the North Coast since retiring from a teaching career.

Holmes Mohler will showcase paintings in her exhibit, “Waiting For a New Normal.” The collection features paintings of women with flowers, which she completed in winter. Other art included represents Holmes Mohler’s interpretations of the coronavirus pandemic, as she’s continued to paint in recent months. The combination showcases her artistry before and during the pandemic. Holmes Mohler lives on the coast.

Lindley will showcase his exhibit, “The Whole of the Donut.” The collection explores Lindley’s experiences of the 1970s, plus “the drug-fueled psychedlic cartooning of R. Crumb.” Lindley’s paintings create an alternative reality and explore the decisions he has made in life. He now lives in Manzanita.
