Dorota Haber-Lehigh owl drawing

A drawing of an owl by local artist Dorota Haber-Lehigh.

SEASIDE — Like to draw? Like birds? Sign up for Seaside Public Library’s Mini Bird Drawing Class with local artist and illustrator Dorota Haber-Lehigh.

Sponsored by Friends of the Seaside Library, the workshop takes place 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9. You must sign up for this class and can do so at the circulation desk or by phone.

Participants will create a mini bird portrait using colored pencils on walnut ink paper. Folks in the class will begin with a foundation sketch, then learn how to transfer their drawing and layer gentle colors using colored pencils.

There will be the option to use watercolor or gouache as a foundation for the bird, so bring a set of watercolors or gouache if you already have one. All other materials will be provided. Please bring reference photos of the bird you intend to draw.

The library is at 1131 Broadway St. For more information, call 503-738-6742 or visit seasidelibrary.org.
