OREGON — Applications are open for the Governor’s Arts Awards, which honors individuals and organizations that contributed to the arts in Oregon.
The awards are open to individuals, organizations and communities in Oregon. Submissions are due at 5 p.m. on May 26 at oregonartscommission.org.
Submissions will be judged by a committee that includes an employee from Gov. Kate Brown’s office, an arts commissioner and art leaders from around the state. The committee will choose three to five awards, which will be approved by Brown.
Awards will be chosen based on the applicant’s regional, national or international impact and how the applicant improved the arts in Oregon.
Award recipients will be invited to an award ceremony later this year, which may be held virtually.
